Here is an excerpt from the tale “Le bonhomme de neige” written by Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875), which I have illustrated in black and white. A wonderful read for winter! Depending on the grade of your children or students, I have provided a five-question multiple-choice quiz to complete the activity. You can also create your own questionnaire. Furthermore, you could take this opportunity to identify new words in the story so that students can look up their definitions in the dictionary. I believe you can adapt many of these activities to the grade level you teach.
